Welcome to the new look version of Paul McGee's Website

Hi everyone, and welcome to my new look site, based on PHP-Nuke

At the end of 2005, a few days before the New Year, plans were in the pipeline to bring about a new look for this site, and this is the final result.

With this new look comes some handy new features. there is an RSS feed (orange icon in address bar of Firefox and orange icon nex to home for Internet Explorer users), news articles on the front page, and a search facility built in too. So you may be wondering "What has happened to the old site?" Well, it has been archived, pay a visit to "The Vault" on the right hand side of your screen to see it

Why not make yourself at home here on the new site like you did on the old site, I promise you'll like it as much as the original

Don't forget to come by often, the site is updated frequently

  Transmitter news Minster Northallerton?

Earlier this week, I learned, to my shock, that Minster Northallerton are no longer in Northallerton..... they are 15 miles away in Darlington at Alpha FM.  Needless to say that the locals of Northallerton and surrounding area were none too happy that "their" radio station had moved away

According to a do*****ent found on Ofcom's website, this was done so Minster Northallerton could increase outside broadcasts using a dedicated Comrex GSM OB device (of which I have seen this week in use)

Northallerton's dream of truly local radio has been partially shattered by TLRC, may we hope the station returns home

  Site News Downtime

I'm typing this during the time the ADSL is not working

We've had the painters in, and it appears they have disconnected the phone line entirely somehow, possibly the detachment of the front of the linebox to be able to paint around it

I apologise for any inconvenience caused

  Site News overly long downtime

The site has been offline for the last couple of weeks due to a problem with server location after the room containing it was tidied up, then another problem involving connection of the server to the internet and power

there should be no further disruptions

sorry for any inconvenience caused

Site News 2 years so far...

2 years ago today, this version of the site came online and has so far been pretty good, despite that 2 years on I still haven't got a logo made

The changes since last year are noticable, the galleries are moved to seperate software which works with the PHP-Nuke software on this site, PHP_Nuke itself has since been upgraded to a newer version, and now has YouTube videos on some pages

Lets see what the next 12 months brings :)

I'm pleased to announce the server hosting this site has had an entire hardware upgrade, it now has more memory and a slightly faster processor (this was taken from my desktop as a new motherboard for that is on the way soon

performance differences may not be noticeable at first but trust me the hardware has been upgraded

  Site News New Content: Videos

I've just enabled the videos section of the site, the videos are all hosted on YouTube so when you are viewing them your computer has to be able to play YouTube videos, which most modern computers can do

Just click on "Content" on the left of the screen, Videos is available there

All videos appear on their own page in the videos section
